Hope Academy Chief Operations Officer Rachelle Gardner and Sarah, a Hope Academy senior, were featured live on FOX59’s morning newscast on Feb. 14 to discuss the 2019 Taste of Hope fundraiser.
The interview included food that will be featured at the event by some of the participating restaurants. Arni’s Restaurant brought spicy Korean meatballs and mushrooms. City Barbeque showcased their brisket. And Meridian Restaurant had meatballs topped with tarragon sauce and fennel.
Taste of Hope is an annual fundraising event held each February to benefit Hope Academy, Indiana’s only recovery high school. This year’s edition is noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Fairbanks Recovery Center, 8102A Clearvista Parkway, Indianapolis. During Taste of Hope, attendees can enjoy food prepared by local chefs, tour the school and help support students in recovery from substance abuse. Money raised helps offset the cost of educating each student at Hope Academy, which is a tuition-free, public charter high school.
