At Hope Academy, we are focused on supporting our students AND their families. That’s why each Wednesday at 6 p.m. we host a (virtual) parent support group. During these meetings family members gather to learn more about what their loved one experiencing as well as how to take care of themselves.
Every other week a parent is invited share their story with the group and on the opposite week an educational session is facilitated by our parent support group facilitator, Aleesha Bullock, LSW. Aleesha strives to provide a safe, supportive and encouraging environment.
“Parents should attend this group to develop their own support system and gain knowledge and insight on this disease,” says Aleesha. “They are able to be a part of a safe and supportive environment with others who are going through similar experiences. Parents will be able to increase communication, set boundaries, improve relationships, and gain resources throughout our Wednesday meetings.”
If you are interested in attending an upcoming Parent Support Group Meeting or know someone who is, email Aleesha directly to get the secure Zoom link.
